THE MAIN SQUARE
The main square of Lima is the most important of the city and also one of the most beautiful and famous. The square is surrounded by some of the most outstanding buildings in the capital, including the Cathedral, Government Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, the Municipal Palace and the Union Club.
The main square of Lima, like the cathedral, was founded by Francisco Pizarro in 1535, but since then has undergone many transformations.
The square has a size big enough and there's a sense of freedom and tranquility to the extent it has because it has no excessive decorative elements. The most striking element is the font that is located right in the center of the square and where ever you find yourself becoming tourists pictures from every possible angle.
This place is one of the best to start visiting the center of Lima and that from here come the main streets of the capital.
Indeed, at noon can be seen in the Government Palace of the guard, which is quite nice and funny.
